Being a part of the future: Photonics
A Born Again Scientist
My passions lie in science, engineering, and mathematics. I have come to understand that scientific discovery and innovation are integral components of a flourishing society. In specific, the study of light and its uses is a rich field of great depth, which is why my goal is to enter the field of science, particularly in regards to photonics and optical engineering.

Background & Goals
I am currently an Electrical Engineering student who will be transferring to Bridgewater's cutting edge photonics program. Using state of the art technology I will delve deep into the science of light, designing optical systems, analyzing data, and running scientific experiments. I also have an interest in integrating programming with scientific computation.

Work Experience
My Career
Student Technical Assistant, Lincoln Laboratories
September 2024 - Present
Develop software based systems for experimental automation for use in device testing, data collection and analysis
Business Training Manager, More than Words
August 2018 - Present
Work with youth to develop basic job skillsAssist in business operations including inventory management, shipping, and other logistics
Food Pantry Volunteer, Amherst Survival Center

Maintain fully-stocked and organized shelves, assist with the management and transfer of food items as necessary, unload food trucks and organized items within the warehouse
Educational Experience
What I’ve Learned
As an electrical engineering student I've learned a lot of about critical and systematic thinking. What does that mean in practice? Simplifying complex problems, applying mathematical logic, troubleshooting, experimentation as well as utilizing computer programming for computations. I have experience creating circuits on both solderless breadboards as well as soldering on stripboards, and I am familiar with multiple programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and C++.

An interactive Python based dashboard with the purposes of assessing energy needs of US counties in relation to solar power generation potential. Users can select any county in the United States and the dashboard will report household energy characteristics and potential photovoltaic (PV) power generation information. The application queries data from the American Community Survey, the National Renewal Energy Lab, and the Energy Information Adminstration.

Mapping the Affordable Housing Crisis
Analysis with ArcGIS
Using ArcGIS, I analyzed census data to look at areas that are significantly cost burdened (indicating that 50% or more of income goes to rent) as well as examine potential relationships between high rental costs and poverty. You can see the full image here:
Spectrometer
Analyzing materials with light
Homemade spectrometer in which light is split into different wavelengths - wavelengths enter through slight and is detected by a photoresistor behind liquid in a cuvette. Signal was analyzed based off of varying wavelengths.

Stripboard - Transistor AND GATE
